A new documentary honoring the legendary life and career of veteran actor Olu Jacobs is set to premiere on Africa Magic Showcase, following his passing on September 16, 2026.
Titled ‘Doyen of Nollywood: Celebrating Olu Jacobs,’ the film pays tribute to one of Nigeria’s most revered and influential figures in the creative industry.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Femi Odugbemi and produced by Zuri 24 Media, the documentary delves into Jacobs’ remarkable journey across theatre, television, and film, highlighting the profound impact he made on the Nigerian entertainment landscape over several decades.
Olu Jacobs was celebrated as a transformative presence in African cinema. With a career spanning generations, he captivated audiences on both stage and screen, earning accolades for his exceptional talent, versatility, and unwavering dedication to the craft.

It will also air on other Africa Magic channels, including Africa Magic Epic—Sunday, September 27 at 10:05 pm; Monday, September 28 at 6:30 pm; Tuesday, September 29 at 1:55 pm; and Wednesday, September 30 at 4:20 pm.
