Marcus Rashford Slammed and Defended After Attending Boxing Match Following Villa’s FA Cup Exit

Marcus Rashford found himself at the center of a social media storm after he was spotted attending Conor Benn’s fight against Chris Eubank Jr, just hours after missing Aston Villa’s FA Cup semi-final loss to Crystal Palace due to a hamstring injury.

Rashford, left out of Villa’s matchday squad, joined other stars like Ollie Watkins and Declan Rice at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the high-profile boxing bout. However, some fans were furious, questioning his commitment and calling his actions “tone deaf.”

@Cantona_Collars blasted: “Missing a semi-final through injury which your team loses and then heads out for a social event.”
@Mairecait_ added: “Wonder why Ruben didn’t want that attitude around, what say Marcus defenders?!”
@ManUtd_addicts criticized: “He hasn’t cared about football for a very long time. Facts.”

On the flip side, many supporters rallied behind Rashford, arguing he has the right to enjoy personal time even while sidelined.

@WeAreThePaxton said: “There is a life outside football.”
@FootieThinking defended: “He don’t owe anyone s*it bro, the bros off work and wants to go watch the boxing – grow up.”
@Unpaid_Pundit1 added: “Having an injury doesn’t mean you can’t sit and watch boxing.”

Since joining Villa on loan from Manchester United, Rashford has impressed with four goals and six assists in 17 appearances. However, his current injury could rule him out for the rest of the season, leaving questions about his future.

Villa, seventh in the Premier League, face Fulham next, with Champions League qualification hopes hanging by a thread.
