Harry Kane is finally on the brink of ending his long wait for silverware, as Bayern Munich edge closer to winning the Bundesliga after Bayer Leverkusen dropped points in a 1-1 draw against St Pauli on Sunday.
Kane, who scored in Bayern’s 4-0 demolition of Heidenheim on Saturday, now stands just one step away from clinching his first-ever major trophy, following a career filled with near misses.
With four games left, Bayern sit top with 72 points, while Leverkusen trail with 64. A win for Bayern next weekend against Mainz combined with another slip from Leverkusen against Augsburg would crown Kane and Bayern champions.
The England captain has endured heartbreak in multiple finals, including two European Championship losses, a Champions League final defeat, and two League Cup final losses with Spurs. He also finished second in the Bundesliga and German Super Cup last season.
Next weekend could finally flip the script for Kane, turning years of “so close” into sweet success.
